Little Shalimar - aka Torbitt Schwartz - grew up spraying graffiti in Brooklyn, and going to art-rock shows in Louisville, KY. He’s a Grammy Nominated Producer/ DJ / multi-instrumentalist, who co-produced and co-wrote two songs on Killer Mike’s currently Grammy Nominated album “Michael,” as well as co-producing and co-writing all four of Run The Jewels the critically acclaimed albums, including Run The Jewels 4, which entered the Billboard 200 charts at #10, and which was critically one of the most highly acclaimed albums of 2020.  RTJ 3, which went to #1 on the Billboard's Top R&B/Hip Hop Albums chart, and includes the single “Legend Has It,” featured in the Super Bowl commercial tie-in for Lexus and The Black Panther (the action-packed commercial stars the late Chadwick Boseman). Little Shalimar co-produced El-P’s "Cancer 4 Cure" album, and he Produced and co-wrote cult-singer-songwriter Trixie Whitley’s electronic album “Lacuna,” He produced and co-wrote the recent Kendra Morris album “I Am What I’m Waiting For.” Torbitt has provided production and beats to various high profile projects, including a collaboration with A-Trak on a commercial campaign for Tiffany & Co. featuring Hailey Bieber, and a collaboration with Travis Barker on the Fever 333 song “Block is on Fire.” 

In addition to his album credits, Little Shalimar enjoys working as a composer for film and television. He scored the critically acclaimed films “Rubble Kings, and “First Match,” for Netflix, the film “Far From Home” for CNN, and he has contributed music to the Marvel films “Venom,” and “Fantastic Four” movies as well as the previously mentioned Super Bowl/ Black Panther/ Lexus commercial, additional promo spots for “Black Panther,” and award winning commercial spots for Nike. As a member of the house band for Mike Myers “The Gong Show” TV series Little Shalimar collaborated on composing music for all of the episodes, and was featured on camera as the drummer in The Gong Show’s house band. Run The Jewels music is also a licensing favorite, currently being featured in countless films and TV shows.

Little Shalimar leads the electro-RnB unit “King Mono,” and has worked as an instrumentalist/producer/DJ with collaborators including: Elvis Costello, TV On The Radio, Steve Arrington, Antibalas, and Chin Chin (of which he's a founding member). He was the musical director for the Run The Jewels /TV on the Radio collaboration on Stephen Colbert’s Late Show. 

As a DJ Little Shalimar has performed at NYC’s “Summer Stage,” with the legendary DJ Kool Herc. He’s shared decks with Peanut Butter Wolf, Eli Escobar, DJ Spinna, Theo Parish, Stretch Armstrong, Bobbito Garcia, and his DJ residency at Franklin Park in Brooklyn was awarded top honors for an ongoing dance party in New York Magazine’s “Best of New York” edition.
