Studio G, Brooklyn

Studio G, Brooklyn opened in 1993 with a dream of providing a creative home base for the world’s top recording artists. Now, 30 years later they are going stronger than ever, as they continue to build on this vision. The facilities at Studio G offer the highest level of recording experiences, in a comfortable atmosphere, with an incredible community of talented recording engineers.

Studio G, Brooklyn was co-founded by multi-platinum selling, Grammy and Latin Grammy nominated, and two time Emmy nominated Brooklyn-based record producer, engineer, mixer and songwriter, Joel Hamilton. Hamilton has produced records by The Black Keys, Highly Suspect, Danny Elfman, Dub Trio, Matisyahu, Marc Ribot, Lettuce, Sparklehorse, working alongside Rick Rubin and Paul McCartney, Elvis Costello, Tom Waits, amongst many others over the course of the past 30 years. Studio G was originally opened by Tony Maimone (Pere Ubu, Jeff Buckley, They Might Be Giants, Frank Black, Lucinda Williams, The Mekons, Bob Mould), and is currently owned by Tony, Joel, and Chris Cubeta (A Great Big World, Ingrid Michaelson, Rachel Platten, Jukebox the Ghost, Kelly Rowland).

Studio G’s Studio A and Studio B were designed and curated to create the Grammy nominated, as well Gold and Platinum certified music - one featuring a state of the art SSL console, the other a vintage Neve. Both with one of the most extensive and eclectic collections of microphones and equipment around.

Not ones to sit on their laurels though, Studio C is their new ATMOS mix room, completely outfitted for ATMOS spatial audio production, and yet still works perfectly as a small studio for vocal recording and overdubs. While Studio D is a great choice for recording and mixing a project. Studios A and D are wired directly to their newest and largest room, Studio F, which is a 950 square foot multi-use space with a small stage and high ceilings which works exceptionally well as a live recording room, a filming studio, or as a performance/showcase space for audiences of up to 40 people.

Studio G, Brooklyn is a destination for artists, engineers and musicians from around the world. They are proud to celebrate over 30 years of helping creative people and businesses to realize their dreams and goals in their exceptional facilities.
